1440 Amsterdam Ave

1440 Amsterdam is a 28-story, 490-unit residential tower in West Harlem, designed by Gluck+ and completed in 2025. On a site that sat vacant for over a decade, the building delivers 490 rentals with 30 percent affordable, a Mondrian-patterned glass and brick facade, and a full amenity floor with rooftop Sky Lounge. It sits blocks from Columbia University and City College.

Kingston handled the masonry scope and the full architectural exterior at 1440 Amsterdam, structural CMU through the core, ground face block at the rear elevation, and the block work that defines how this building reads from the street. We worked alongside Belden Tri-State to keep a 28-story job on spec and on schedule.
